Every year, it happens.
One day, fair week feels like it’s still a long way off. The next, you’re pulling last year’s boots out of the closet only to realize they don’t fit anymore. The jeans are suddenly too short, someone’s outgrown their show shirt, and you’re making a last-minute trip for “just one thing” that somehow turns into a whole list.
If that sounds familiar, you’re definitely not alone.
After 19 years of helping western families in Greenwich, Ohio—and customers across the country—get ready for fair season, we’ve learned that a little preparation goes a long way. Whether you’re heading to your very first county fair or your family has spent generations showing livestock, being ready before fair week makes the experience a whole lot more enjoyable.
1. Try Everything On Before Fair Week
Kids have a way of growing when nobody’s looking. Before the busy week begins, pull everything out and do a quick fitting. It’s much easier to replace one or two things now than scramble the night before the fair.
2. Think Beyond the Show Ring
Even if your family isn’t showing livestock, fair season is still one of the biggest events of the summer.
Maybe you’re heading to the rodeo, cheering from the grandstands, meeting friends for funnel cakes, watching the truck pull, or spending the afternoon walking the midway.
A comfortable pair of boots, good jeans, and a shirt they’ll feel confident wearing can take them from morning until the last ride without missing a beat.
3. Don’t Forget the Little Things
Sometimes it’s the accessories everyone forgets until the last minute.
Things like:
They’re small details, but they’re often what finishes an outfit.
4. Buy for After Fair Season, Too
One thing we always tell parents is this:
Don’t buy something they’ll only wear once.
The best fair outfits become the ones they wear to school, church, rodeos, family cookouts, football games, and weekends long after the fair is over.
That’s why we look for brands and styles that hold up to everyday life, not just one special week.
Fair Season Starts Here
One of our favorite parts of summer is watching families come through the doors together.
Parents are making lists. Kids are trying on boots they don’t want to take off. Grandparents are picking out a belt buckle or a new hat. Before long, everyone leaves excited for the week ahead.
Those moments never get old.
Whether you’re shopping for babies, toddlers, big kids, or even yourself, we’re proud to offer a wide selection of boots, jeans, pearl snaps, dresses, hats, accessories, and everyday western wear for the whole family.
If you’re near Greenwich, Ohio, we’d love to help you find everything you need for fair week. If you’re shopping from home, many of our favorite fair-season styles are available online and ship throughout the U.S.
Here’s to another great fair season, we hope to see you soon!
