“Painted Cowgirl Western Store”
Honoring Family, Horses, & 18 Years of Western Spirit
When you hear the name Painted Cowgirl, your mind might immediately go to rhinestones and fringe or simply only women’s western fashion - and while we proudly offer all of that and more (some people still seem to be shocked to learn we carry just as many men's boot, cowboy hats and western shirts as we do ladies), the name actually runs much deeper than meets the eye.
The heart behind Painted Cowgirl goes back decades before the storefront ever opened its doors. Amy, our founder and fearless leader, grew up immersed in the world of paint and quarter horses. Her father, a lifelong horseman, poured his passion into breeding, training, showing, and racing horses across the Midwest. As the owner of Bond Racing Stables and a proud member of the Jockey Club, American Paint Horse Association (APHA), and American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), his life revolved around his love horses.
It was that deep bond—between a daughter, her father, and the horses and being surrounded by the beauty paint horses that sparked the inspiration for the name Painted Cowgirl Western Store. When Amy opened her shop 18 years ago, she chose the name to honor her dad’s legacy and the colorful, powerful horses that ran through her childhood memories.
What began as a humble tack shop on her family’s farm has grown into something truly special:
-
Four destination stores in downtown Greenwich, Ohio
- Main Store: featuring apparel & boots
- Kid's Western Store
- PCG Work Wear
-
Hats & Accessories
- A thriving online shop serving customers across the U.S. and Canada
Through it all, our roots have never changed. She has built this business on values that matter—family, authenticity, hard work, and heart.
So as we celebrate 18 incredible years in business this June, we’re taking a moment to reflect. To remember where we came from. To honor the horses, the people, and the small-town dreams that brought us here.
