A Boot 20 Years in the Making

Before purple and gold became part of Painted Cowgirl, they were the racing colors of Bond Racing Stables.

Emmett “Tiny” Bond Jr., Amy Bond’s father, was a lifelong Ohio horseman and the owner of Bond Racing Stables. He dedicated his life to breeding, raising, training, showing and racing horses, with deep roots in the Paint and Quarter Horse industries.

Amy grew up surrounded by that world on the family horse farm. The horses, hard work and traditions established there became part of the foundation from which Painted Cowgirl Western Store would later grow.

Following Tiny’s passing in 2006, Amy opened Painted Cowgirl in 2007. Nearly 20 years later, his influence remains woven into the identity of the store—and into the purple and gold colors that have come to represent Painted Cowgirl.

For our 20th anniversary, we are bringing that story full circle through a commemorative boot created in collaboration with Black Jack Boots.

The Meaning Behind the Design

This design was not created around a trendy color combination.

It was created around a family legacy.

The rich Zebra Purple Caiman Belly honors the purple found in Tiny’s Bond Racing colors. The warm golden tones of the 12-inch Ranch Hand Cognac shaft represent the gold and create the backdrop for Painted Cowgirl’s commemorative 20th anniversary stitching.

Black piping and side seams frame the design and add contrast between the golden shaft and deep purple caiman. A sharp V toe and Black Jack No. 4 heel give the boot a refined western profile, while the single welt and Vintage Mahogany-finished leather sole complete the design.

Every element was chosen to connect the beginning of Painted Cowgirl with the milestone we are preparing to celebrate in June 2027.

This boot represents Tiny’s horse-racing legacy, Amy’s journey in building Painted Cowgirl and the customers who have supported our family-owned store through 20 years in business.

The Black Jack x Painted Cowgirl 20th Anniversary Boot is expected to arrive around June 2027, in time for Painted Cowgirl Western Store’s 20th anniversary celebration.

The product imagery is a design rendering created to represent the planned boot. Final leather coloration, natural caiman scale pattern and minor production details may vary in the completed boot.
